Kesha Rose Makeup Review

As some people may know, I'm a huge Kesha fan. I haven't seen her in concert, but I have all her cds and I love listening to her as I get ready to go out and do hoodrat shit ... can't play the biggest fan card but then again this isn't middle school and I'm not writing her letters. I would definitely like to party with her. Her new album, High Road, is pretty legit. If you want a review of that, lemme know, but I'm here to talk about what a lot of people have asked me about : her makeup line.

Kesha partnered with HipDot to create this line, and I'll be the first to admit I had never heard of them, nor have I ever tried their products. I wasn't impressed with their method of shipping, as it was just an envelope with scarce any bubble wrap and resulted in my boxes being dented. But it came quickly and they made me have to sign for it, so the post office couldn't lose it and it couldn't get stolen.

To start off, here is a picture of me wearing it today  :
I didn't go crazy with it since I was just going to work, but I'm using her eye shadow, eyeliner, and lip stick. I used Urban Decay's Anti Aging eye potion for the lid primer, because I have like four containers of it, but any eye primer would likely work. Orrrr you could go without. I haven't tried it yet because like I said, I have a lot of eye shadow primers.
This is the exterior, and if it doesn't get you curious about the product, I can't help you. I think the packaging is absolutely beautiful. Round is a unique shape, and the colour scheme is whimsical and fun. The tassel is adorable, and doesn't get in the way like I thought it would. The case is surprisingly sturdy for being basically cardboard, and the mirror is a good size so as to actually be useful.
Here's the inside ... no boring nudes for this collection! Where Lady Gaga let me down in her makeup release, Kesha came through for me. THIS is what I think of when I think of her style. Bright colours in matte shades, shimmers, and of course, glitter! I haven't used all the colours yet, but I've created two looks. I didn't take a picture of the other one, but I used Backstabber, Woman, and Pageantry to create the look I did include. The shades went on smoothly, and blended flawlessly into the look I wanted in very little time. There was no cast off on my checks when I applied the shadows, and it's something I expected with such a pigmented product. Yesterday, I used Boogie Feet, Backstabber, Dinosaur, and Honey. It was BEAUTIFUL and I wish I got a picture of it.
THESE are her eyeliners, which she called the Whatever Wherever Wands. I wasn't sure I wanted them initially because I have a lot of eyeliners already. I wanted the other products, so I just ordered the whole set. I was pleasantly surprised by these products. One pen is called Cowboy Blues, and comes with the colours black and blue. The second pen is called Stay Gold and comes with ... you guessed it gold, as well as a copper orange colour. For the included look, I lunged thickly with the copper colour, then I used the black over that in a thin line, only on my top line for both. I used the blue yesterday, and all the colors go on smoothly. No tugging or jerking that creates unevenness in the line. These are some damn fine liners.
I'm obsessed with the lip colors! She has a gloss called That Bitch, and a beautiful orangey bright red called Raising Hell. She used Rosehip oil, which I found clever due to the name of her line. Their both really moisturizing, and that red is glorious. The cool thing about the gloss is that it changes to a pretty pink colour based off of your Ph, and has a nice cooling feeling as it plumps. I don't know that I saw much difference in the plumpiness of my lips, but the taste was fine and the shade I got was just lovely. I wore it, you guessed it, yesterday. Guhhhhh, I wish I took pictures.
This is after approximately 12 hours of wear at a stressful job, and I also touch my face a lot. The liner didn't move am inch, the eyeshadow didn't collect at the crease of my eyes, and the colour only faded a little bit. As for the lipstick, it's like typical wear and had to be reapplied after eating.

So overall, I give two enthusiastic thumbs up to every product of her line. I recommend you buy her new album, put on a little colour, and find your rainbow!!

Let me know if you want more reviews!
