Life ... uh ... Finds a Way
Of course I'd get promoted at work when all hell breaks loose in the world. Of course that's when this would happen.
Anyway, unless you've lived under a rock you know that we have another crappy flu epidemic, pandemic, whatever it's called. I caught a cold and I stayed home from work because I didn't want to scare anyone. It is in my head and chest, and came with a slight fever. My current temperature is 99*F. It was 99.1 earlier so it's going down down in the earlier round. I've coughed so much that my lower ab muscles [who knew I had any?] are aching like a sombitch. It is what it is. Though I think it's kind of karma for me to get sick because I have been mocking the illness saying I wanted it so I could stay home from work. This is what I get for my dark sense of humour.
With everything closing, my groomer cancelled my appointment to make my dog less homeless so we're taking her tomorrow to the groomers inside Petco. I'm nervous because the last time I took her to a Petco she looked like a lizard dog, but I don't have many more options. She can't wait another month for the shops to open back up. She's also not feeling her best, so we've been sick companions together, though I don't know what exactly she has gotten into. She at some of my turkey bacon earlier today so she must be feeling a little better.
Back to me getting promoted, I got promoted. I don't talk about my job on here very much because I don't want to get in trouble. I don't speak for all dispatchers, and I wouldn't want my opinions to be construed that that's how everyone feels and then I get pulled into the office. I'm just me and my job is only a part of me, but one that I have to unfortunately keep off online. I have some stories though. When I retire maybe I'll tell them. I can tell you I definitely didn't get a sick raise or anything like that.
I have new cute hair, just in time to not be able to go anywhere with it! This computer makes it hard to share pictures so I'll try to share it in an edit from my phone. It's a balancing act on which device does a better job. The computer lets me type easier, the phone lets me upload pictures easier. When their powers combine ... who knows?
What have y'all been doing during the quarantine? I've been playing Diablo III in seasonal mode and almost shitting my pants every time my character comes close to dying. I've also been re-reading Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children because there are two books that came out recently that I haven't read and I want to be refreshed in the story before I start them.
We'll get through this. Lemme know what you're up to, and pray my dog doesn't come out looking like a lizard.
